Hanami

The first few days after moving in, we barely left the apartment since we were mostly just trying to not have everything be a huge mess. But we did put aside unpacking for a bit to go back to the botanic garden, to see the cherry blossoms at their peak one more time. Luckily, since Matt got a membership for his birthday (thanks to someone!), we can go whenever we want for no charge!

I can't believe we've only been here two and half weeks! It seems like we've been so busy, and I guess we have. Lots of printing (a good thing), doing some fun stuff, and enjoying the nice weather. Since getting a Fitbit (thanks, mom!!) I've been really aware of how active I am. Even living in New York, if we don't specifically go out to get steps, I wouldn't get 10,000 a day. Working from home is still working from home! We've been applying to lots of not working from home jobs, though, so hopefully that will change sometime soon!

Neighborhood Cherry Blossoms

Spring is definitely one of the best things about living here! This year, it came much earlier than we expected (even though it came just as early last year). In our heads, flowers aren't supposed to start blooming in late January! Yesterday, we took advantage of the perfect weather and walked over to the library via a street lined with cherry blossoms. It's like a little piece of one of our favorite places in New York, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, here in Portland.
