Another Maine Visit - Part Two

Part two of our most recent, fun trip to Maine!

We woke up bright and early to see Everton's first game of the 2015-16 year! Unfortunately, we drew against a newly promoted club...but more optimistically, we came from behind twice to draw! So in the end, it didn't feel like as much of a loss as last year's opening day 2-2 draw.

On Sunday, we (finally) went kayaking! There's a place called Scarborough Marsh that's less than 10 minutes away from the house - it's a big salt water tidal marsh that was supposed to have lots of good bird watching (the place we rented the kayaks from was the Scarborough Audubon Society, after all...). Joel & Liz brought their kayaks and Matt & I rented some. There's a big looping channel through the marsh, almost like a river, and they sent us out against the tide so we wouldn't be too tired on the way back. After paddling for what seemed like miles and miles, we decided to turn back. On the way back, we realized that we hadn't gone that far at all, it had just been slow going because of the tides! It took no time at all to float back with the tide that was going out. When we got back, we noticed how much the water level had fallen! It was lots of fun.

The water level when we set out...
