May, Week Two

May is going so quickly! It seems like we came back from our Washington trip a few days ago, but it's already been two weeks. We came back to a lot of work and have been printing more often than not since then. Luckily, when we do have time off, the weather has generally been perfect, since we're solidly into spring now.

Our farmer's market started up its normal summer schedule again, so we've been taking advantage of it. We're really into pesto at the moment! Not pesto made from basil (we don't get basil until mid-summer here) but from arugula. It's cheap at the farmer's market, and substituting it for basil makes a delicious pesto that's slightly bitter and earthy and perfect for spring. Delicious on homemade pasta or - as we found out - focaccia!

(No, I won't ever grow out of taking photos of my cats!)

We're looking forward to the next few months - perfect weather, hopefully getting out to do a hike or two in the gorge (Angel's Rest and Eagle Creek - the whole thing - are on our wishlist),  swimming at Sauvie Island, the Japanese Garden, going up to Mt. Hood again, and - last but not least - going to Lake Tahoe and Yosemite with my dad and stepmom!  I haven't seen them since last August, so it'll be an extra nice trip to a beautiful part of the country.

But, before any of that - it's back to printing!

  1. At least you take excellent photos of your cats now, as opposed to when you were a kid and it was Nosy! There were some awful photos! :) Mom-to-Jennie
